Where to find Lake Wylie topwater fish
Main-lake points

Bridges
Buster Boyd Bridge and the railroad bridge are classic topwater stops. Bass hold on the shade lines and bait piles around the pilings — a long cast parallel to the bridge produces multiple strikes per pass.
Long secondary points
Inside the major creek arms (Crowders, Big Allison), long secondary points with brush near the channel hold both herring-keyed bass and dock-line largemouth that will eat a topwater early.
Dock lines and grass at low light
A popper or small walking bait worked tight to floating dock corners and any remaining grass lines produces overcast-morning bites that don't relate to herring at all.
Cadence and color
