The finesse cleanup. After a cold front, on pressured weekends, or when the topwater bite dies — a dropshot on the deep end of points or a shaky head on a brush pile saves the day.
What you don't need
Skip the deep-diving crankbaits unless you fish offshore brush in mid-summer. Skip large glide baits — they get refused by Wylie's herring-keyed bass. A flutter spoon for summer schoolers is a nice add-on but not essential.
